Fun, Country Style Wedding

It’s a joy to design a wedding for such a fun and thoughtful couple. Pops of yellow among the white and gray and a request for sunflowers made this a modern country event to remember.

This wedding took a village.  Friends and family helped install many of the vignettes to personalize the design.

Both the wedding and reception were held at Kokie’s Echo Valley on the west side of Evansville.  The theme was set as soon as guests arrived.

Frames, signs, and photos welcomed guests down the path to the ceremony site.

Programs, which doubled as fans on the hot day, were held in baskets near a photo of the couple and other decorative pieces.

Many of the projects were DIY’d, including these cute pennants that lined the path.

More vignettes lined the path, inviting guests to linger as they made their way to their seats.

The gazebo was a place for the wedding party to congregate and socialize with guests before the wedding as well as a great backdrop for photos.

A friend of the couple built this beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.

The aisle leading up to the platform was lined with burlap and grapevine with cones of baby’s breath tied to the chairs.  Rose petals were sprinkled on the aisle.

The bride carried a bouquet with sunflowers, black eyed susan, roses, gerber daisies, solidaster, baby’s breath, and bupleurum.

Tables were set with different but coordinating vignettes, similar to the outdoor decor.

Alcoves were filled with photos and items special to the couple.

Jenison mantle (1 of 1)

The mantle over the fireplace in the seating area was decorated with flowers, vintage suitcases, a banner, and a custom painting–now a gift to the couple.

A toss bouquet sat next to the cake with desserts and snacks to both sides.  Burlap banners hung over the cloth backdrop with wreaths and nosegay bouquets placed in cones in the center of each wreath.

Jenison head table #2 (1 of 1)

We created three banners within the couple’s yellow and gray color scheme to hang behind the head table.  Uplighting and glass terrariums holding tea lights were visible at night.

One of the best parts about this wedding was that we were able to grow closer to the couple and their families.  We were guests at the wedding, as well.  Building a close relationship makes our work even more worthwhile.
